North Star 2024
We are thrilled to continue our partnership with the North Star Science School, The Work-wise Foundation and Gulliver’s Theme Park Resorts inspiring the next generation of innovators. We were especially excited to welcome our partner Professor Brian Cox CBE to the event. Now in its fifth year, this initiative has reached over 3,500 students from across South Yorkshire, sparking interest in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) subjects and their vast career opportunities.
Hosted at Gulliver's Valley and led by our long term partners The Work-wise Foundation, the event brings together young learners, educators, and industry leaders. Highlights included inspirational talks from our Chairman Lord Andrew Mawson and Professor Brian Cox CBE FRS, hands-on interactive workshops, and the co-creation of innovative projects between local schools and businesses.
This year, our amazing sponsors and partners played a crucial role in creating a rich learning experience. Companies such as AESSEAL®, AMRC Training Centre, Esh Group, and UK Atomic Energy Authority provided workshops that demonstrated the real-world applications of STEAM. Students explored cutting-edge concepts, from designing wind-powered cars with E-ON and Amazelab to experimenting with thermal imaging solutions from AMETEK Land.
These partnerships not only encourage innovative thinking but also provide students with a glimpse into career possibilities, building their confidence and curiosity. Together, we are nurturing the next generation of scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs, ensuring South Yorkshire remains a hub for excellence in STEAM.
